Milk Lover (0-4m)

Bif and Bacteroides are seeded from Mom
  • Bifidobacterium dominated
  • Often high unfriendly bacteria is okay
  • Low amounts of food-associated bacteria
  • Low levels of diversity is normal

Baby on the Move (5-9m)

Baby’s first solids! Followed closely by gross solid poops
  • Still Bifidobacterium dominated
  • Unfriendly shouldn’t be very high anymore
  • Some amounts of food-associated species
  • Diversity increases as baby starts exploring

Solid Adventurer (9-12m)

You introduce more solids. They get more and more bacteria!
  • Here’s where we often see Bif no longer king, instead diversity is on the up and up
  • Food-associated bacteria are on the rise,  and we want to see diversity up, too
  • Baby’s gut is starting to look like a thriving toddler

Confident Eater (1-2y)

Maybe weaning, maybe not. Each journey’s different
  • Bifs are still lingering, but they’ve had their time
  • Baby’s microbiome is starting to share more and microbes with parents’
  • Now diversity is critical to good digestive health

Energetic Toddler (2-3y)

Your baby’s gut is now harder to throw off balance
  • Baby’s gut is stabilizing - it’s changing less
  • Now diversity rules the gut with food-associated bacteria moving in to stay
  • Good eating habits and the right bacteria will set your baby on track

This was a great test for our daughter. We wanted to set her up for success from the start and we were able to use the results to keep her on track!

When you get health information, people tell you to check with your provider. But often times the providers don’t have the type of knowledge about the early life gut microbiome that Tiny Health does. Being able to talk to their experts about the gut microbiome is a really helpful addition to our other healthcare providers.

So much more detailed and helpful than what my paediatricians, dietitians, speeches, OTs, osteos etc have been able to provide. This has been extremely clear and helpful information as to why my Bub has been so unsettled.

The first gut test designed with families in mind

Tiny Health was founded by Cheryl, a Mom looking to heal her baby’s microbiome after a C-Section birth. Unable to find clear, reliable answers anywhere she quickly realized that the only gut microbiome tests on the market were designed for grown-ups, not babies, leading to inaccurate results. She set out to create the first ever test to measure the microbiome health of babies during the critical first 1,000 days of life

Why should I join?

The Tiny+ Membership offers a unique opportunity to optimize your child's gut health, especially during the crucial first 1,000 days and beyond. During this period, your child's gut undergoes significant development, setting the stage for long-term health. By testing your child's gut health, you can identify any imbalances early on and make informed decisions to support their well-being.

Even after your child's gut has reached maturity, regular testing can help you understand how external factors are impacting their gut health and make necessary adjustments to their diet, supplements, and lifestyle. Testing your child's gut health is a proactive step towards supporting their overall health and well-being. By understanding their gut microbiome, you can make informed decisions that can positively impact their long-term health.

Why do I need to test my child multiple times?

Testing your child's gut health multiple times provides valuable insights into their ongoing development. While the most rapid changes occur in the first 1,000 days, the gut continues to develop and change throughout childhood. Testing can reveal important information such as levels of hidden gut inflammation, production of anti-inflammatory short-chain fatty acids, microbiome diversity, and biomarkers for immune health and fiber digestion.

By testing at different intervals, you can track the trajectory of their gut health, understand how it responds to various factors like diet, lifestyle changes, and medication, and make informed decisions to support their health. We recommend testing at least twice: once to establish a baseline and then again to track changes over time. Multiple checkpoints provide a more comprehensive picture of your child's gut health and help ensure that it is trending in the right direction.
