We’re proud to share that Dr. Emeran Mayer—world-renowned mind-gut expert and leading microbiome researcher—has joined us as Medical Advisor.

Dr. Mayer brings over 40 years of research into how the brain and gut work together to influence mind and body. He’s spent his career helping people understand the gut-brain connection and how it influences everything from IBS and immunity to mood, energy, and stress.

As a distinguished research professor at UCLA and Executive Director of the G. Oppenheimer Center for Neurobiology of Stress and Resilience, Dr. Mayer is one of the most trusted voices in microbiome science. His work has helped shift how doctors and researchers approach functional care, moving from isolated symptoms to a more connected, holistic view of health. He was honored by Clarivate as a member of the 2024 Highly Cited Researchers list.

Drawing from his books, The Mind-Gut Connection, The Mind-Gut Immune Connection, and Interconnected Plates, Dr. Mayer’s insights are already shaping the next phase of our work at Tiny Health. His latest research into the microbiome and its impact on our physical and mental well-being helps us deliver science-backed tools to support your immunity, mood, and more.

“If you are in a relaxed state or happy, your microbes will know it, and it will facilitate optimal digestion and absorption of these molecules that are generated by ‘happy’ microbes that go back to the brain.” -Dr. Emeran Mayer

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we kicked off our collaboration with Dr. Mayer with a must-see interview exploring how the gut and brain work together, along with practical ways to support both in your daily routine.

We look forward to sharing more details about our collaboration in the coming months.
