Groundbreaking research has shown that the root cause of eczema can often be traced back to key microbes missing from their gut. These tiny and often overlooked imbalances trigger flare ups and make the condition very hard to manage.
The good news: tackling your baby's gut health can address symptoms from the inside out.

Thank you Tiny Health!
We use deep-shotgun metagenomics sequencing, the gold standard to get a comprehensive analysis you can rely on to make informed decisions
We use functional profiling to check what microbes are present, how much of them are there, and what they’re actually doing
We use species-level identification and precision science to detect and confirm microbes' transference, probiotics impact, and more
What can I expect from this program?
- Rebalance the gut: increase beneficial species, reduce unfriendly and overabundant ones
- Many families see a reduction in eczema symptoms
- Eliminate gut imbalances as a contributing factor to eczema
Will this completely resolve my baby’s eczema?
Eczema is a complex condition influenced by a variety of elements such as genetics and enviroment. One of the ways to address this condition is by improving gut imbalances, a known contributing factor to eczema. Many families see a reduction in eczema symptoms after undergoing our programs.
Does microbiome testing detect eczema?
While microbiome testing does not test for eczema, we can show associations between your baby’s gut microbiome and their symptoms of eczema. Or the potential risk of these conditions developing.
How do we do this? We use something called biomarkers. Microbial biomarkers are bacteria associated with a higher or lower likelihood of developing a particular condition.
But not everyone with biomarkers will have that condition. And everyone with a condition may not have the biomarkers.
Microbial biomarkers are developed from research. The Tiny Health Bioinformatics Pipeline uses a custom built database of over 120K complete microbial genomes. We sift through the research surrounding the microbiome and use this information to develop a list of bacteria that we feel are important to track in early life.
Beyond the gut, there are a lot of other factors that also contribute to these conditions. Like genetics, lifestyle, and environmental exposures.
How can Tiny Health help?
If your child already has eczema or food allergies, it is likely that their gut could use some support! This is where Tiny Health would love to help provide insight.
If your child does not have any symptoms, let’s check in on the gut and see how we can help keep things on track.
How can addressing the microbiome help with eczema?
There are two ways that addressing the microbiome can help with eczema:
- If during the phase of life where the microbiome is providing education of the immune system, addressing imbalances early can help with proper immune education. The microbiome is changing and evolving a lot in the first 5 years of life. That is an ideal time to help intervene.
- The microbiome at any age may trigger inflammatory symptoms if it is inflamed. This can weaken the gut lining, cause leakiness of inflammation and can trigger the immune system. This is ideal to address at any age, at any time.
Addressing the gut microbiome can have a huge impact on eczema, as well as risk of other atopic march conditions that often follow this condition (Food allergies, asthma).
That being said, there are multiple contributions to eczema so addressing the gut, while always beneficial for health and wellness, may not be the only factor in the eczema symptoms.
Many parents have found that by taking Tiny Health recommended actions they have significantly reduced or eliminated eczema symptoms.
If I join the Program can I cancel at any time?
If you join the program you are committing to a 4-month subscription. While you may cancel and stop your coaching sessions, you will be charged an early cancellation fee for the remaining balance of the program. If you are unsure about committing to a 4-month program, we recommend starting with the Root Cause Assessment to determine if your baby’s gut requires extended support and testing. If so, you can then opt into the 4-month program for additional support.
What if I’m already working with a pediatrician, naturopath, or functional medical provider?
Tiny Health’s Root Cause Assessment and Eczema Gut Rebalance Program are great tools to use in conjunction with your provider’s services. There is no one-size fits all approach to gut health. Tiny Health’s services will be able to give your provider a clear view of what is happening in your baby’s gut so that a personalized plan of care that addresses your baby’s specific needs can be implemented. We also offer guidance to your practitioners at no additional cost, to help them best understand your results and utilize them in your care plan.
My baby’s age is outside the biomarker window. Is it too late to test for biomarkers related to eczema.
It’s never too late to test. If you test outside the biomarker age range, Tiny Health will still flag any signs of gut dysbiosis or underlying imbalances that could be a contributing factor to eczema.
By optimizing the gut microbiome, you may see the severity and frequency of eczema flare-ups (that are related to imbalances in the gut) reduced.
Keep in mind that while the gut can play a large role in eczema, it may only be part of the puzzle. There may be other factors that also can be contributing to your child’s eczema.
