We’re excited to share that Tiny Health has won the 2025 NutraIngredients-USA Start-Up Award. This honor recognizes early-stage companies making a meaningful impact in health and nutrition through science, innovation, and market potential.
The award ceremony took place on July 14, 2025, in Chicago, an event dedicated to celebrating breakthrough ideas, emerging leaders, and transformative approaches across the supplement and nutrition industry.
“Tiny Health stands out for its innovative, science-driven approach to improving child and family health through precision gut microbiome testing… With a strong scientific foundation, clear mission, and notable commercial traction, Tiny Health is well-positioned to make a meaningful, long-term impact.” — NutraIngredients-USA Judges Panel

Our mission has always been to make advanced microbiome science both accessible and actionable. By using shotgun metagenomic sequencing, the gold standard in microbiome analysis, we help families and providers understand how gut and vaginal microbes influence digestion, immunity, and long-term health.
From the start, we’ve focused on the first 1,000 days of life, when the microbiome is still forming and highly responsive to nutrition. With insights into breastfeeding, formula composition, first foods, and dietary diversity, our tests provide personalized recommendations that can help reduce or course-correct the microbiome risk of chronic conditions later in life.
What sets our tests apart is the ability to assess how the microbiome is functioning, not just which microbes are present. This allows us to deliver clear guidance on targeted probiotics, prebiotic-rich foods, and supplement choices. Families can even track if specific strains in their probiotics are working as intended. Everything is backed by a proprietary bioinformatics pipeline and a microbial database of over 120,000 genomes.
“This recognition means the world to our small but mighty team, who work relentlessly to deliver actionable, evidence-based gut and vaginal microbiome insights to parents, practitioners, researchers, and partners,” shared Cheryl Sew Hoy, founder and CEO of Tiny Health. “From the first 1,000 days to the last 1,000 days — from infancy to longevity — Tiny Health is proud to be recognized as the go-to gut health test with unmatched clinical utility for pediatricians, integrative/functional providers, and longevity clinics nationwide.”
By reimagining preventive care across every life stage, we’re meeting people where they are. This acknowledgment reinforces our commitment to a more proactive, personalized, and empowering approach to microbiome health.
This win also drives us to continue developing innovative tools that help people make informed decisions for their long-term well-being.
We’re thankful to NutraIngredients-USA and the judges for recognizing our approach, and we’re honored to be in the company of others shaping the future of nutrition and health.
